This is the style B poster which depicts one of the best known closing scenes in film history. The pair of affably intrepid bandits, Robert Redford and Paul Newman, are totally unaware that a hundred members of the Bolivian cavalry have just arrived to arrest them. They have just discussed going to Australia when they make their break for their horses. The one sheet depicts the film's tragic ending - a "freeze frame" in a sepia tone shot of the pair exiting the hideout rapidly firing their guns. We hear a voice shouting "Fuego!!" (Spanish for "Fire!!"), and then the sound of dozens of rifles being fired in three consecutive volleys which leaves little doubt to their outcome.
